About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Developer/IT Support Officer to join the Cytology/Histology team based in Bowen Hills.

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the IT systems utilised in the Cytology Department. This includes support of both software and hardware needs of users in the department. 

In this role, you will:

  • Help out with software and hardware troubleshooting in a laboratory environment for doctors and scientists
  • Conduct data extracts for audits, develop reporting tools and deliver ongoing lab support
  • Proactively identify and flag IT advancements that may improve department workflow
  • Maintain and upgrade intranet systems as needed. Our intranet performs a huge number of interdepartmental functions requiring ongoing maintenance and development enhancement.

What We Need From You

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to strengthen our core IT processes. There is the exciting prospect of potentially initiating an upgrade project, so our ideal candidate should have a diverse skill set in software, hardware and process development. 

You can demonstrate:

  • Working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript 
  • Propensity to work efficiently, proactively, patiently, and creatively to problem solve
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan, test, produce, and analyse development projects with an aim to achieve optimal output meeting regulation 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal, developing positive rapport in diverse teams and the ability to talk processes with your tech team, translating into common language for the broader organisation
  • Experience with MySQL or similar medical programming + full stack experience is highly favourable, but not mandatory. 

First and foremost, we are looking for a lateral thinker who can look outside the typical scope to develop new ideas. You are a confident communicator who is technically au fait and competent working in a small team guiding development. You're adaptable, collaborative and optimistic and you demonstrate initiative with a willingness to show innovation.  

Whilst your team of three is small, they are approachable and supportive. You will receive support upon commencement and development opportunities throughout your tenure with SNP.

This opportunity is offered flexibly. Whilst our preference is to pursue a full-time candidate, a part-time role would be considered for the right candidate.
